Judgement in Exodus

Exodus is a book about judgment – first is God’s spectacular judgement of Egypt, then he begins to give a framework of judgement where he delegates some aspects of the task to the national leaders of Israel in the law. But outside of that law, God retains his judgement, as seen in the incident of the Golden calf and other events.
